I
Basic knowledge
CMR: ≥ 25 studies · CT: ≥ 50 studies
For trainees or specialists starting in cardiovascular imaging: principles, indications and limitations of each modality. Does not qualify for independent reporting.
Training
The INCIC Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (CMR) training programme is aimed at physicians with prior cardiac imaging training who seek official SCMR (Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance) Level I or Level II certification.
Participation is by invitation only, for professionals with demonstrated interest in the field and a commitment to diagnostic excellence.
Training is hybrid: in-person and virtual sessions, access to case review platforms, and weekly case analysis and interactive discussion.
The goal is a comprehensive experience that consolidates the theoretical and practical skills required for advanced clinical and academic CMR practice.
SCMR (Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance) and SCCT (Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography) define three training levels to ensure structured, standardised training in cardiovascular imaging.
I
CMR: ≥ 25 studies · CT: ≥ 50 studies
For trainees or specialists starting in cardiovascular imaging: principles, indications and limitations of each modality. Does not qualify for independent reporting.
II
≥ 150 supervised studies per modality
Qualifies for independent reporting of clinical studies: cardiovascular anatomy, acquisition protocols, image optimisation and assessment of findings. Recommended level for routine practice.
III
> 300 studies per modality
Full command of the technique, with capacity for research, teaching, supervision and leading specialised centres.
INCIC organises courses, seminars and observerships in advanced cardiac imaging in Chile and the region, and is building an interactive CMR case gallery to support this work.
