Imágenes 26: Javier López-Opitz brings INCIC's expertise to the Argentine Society of Cardiology congress
In front of nearly 2,000 attendees, Dr. Javier López-Opitz discussed the new frontiers of cardiac CT and MR at the joint SAC–SOCHICAR session, coordinated a hands-on MR workshop and joined an expert panel in Buenos Aires.

Nearly 2,000 attendees and specialists from across Latin America gathered in Buenos Aires to discuss the state of cardiovascular imaging. Among them was Dr. Javier López-Opitz, INCIC member, once again invited by the Argentine Society of Cardiology (SAC) to Imágenes 26, its cardiovascular imaging congress, held on 2–3 July 2026 at La Rural, Predio Ferial de Buenos Aires.
His participation spanned three fronts: workshops, lectures and an expert panel. On Thursday 2 July, at the joint SAC – SOCHICAR session, which brought together the cardiology societies of Argentina and Chile, he gave the talk “CT and MR in 2026: New frontiers in cardiovascular imaging” (Salón Gerschman, 14:45).
That afternoon he moved from the lecture hall to hands-on work, coordinating the workshop “Getting to know the secrets of MR (Circle)” (Salón Arrillaga, 16:15), where he reviewed cardiac magnetic resonance studies live using Circle Cardiovascular Imaging software.

Looking back on the congress, Dr. López-Opitz thanked the SAC for the renewed invitation and highlighted sessions of outstanding quality in cardiac imaging, strong attendance and the chance to share experiences with colleagues from across the region.
