Semaglutide in heart failure
The effect of semaglutide was studied in preclinical models of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction. It was found that semaglutide improves diastolic function and reduces cardiac hypertrophy by 30% and left ventricular filling pressure by 60% without significant weight loss. This is important because it suggests that semaglutide may be beneficial in clinical practice for treating this condition
