Julián Vega Adauy and Daniel Lorenzatti named social media ambassadors for the SCMR 2021 Scientific Sessions
The Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance chose INCIC's academic director and one of its scientific advisors as social media ambassadors for its 2021 annual meeting, the first held fully online.

Chilean cardiac MR had its own voice in the online conversation around the field’s leading international meeting. On 8 February 2021, the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (SCMR) introduced the social media ambassadors for its 2021 Virtual Scientific Sessions, and two members of the Chilean Institute of Cardiac Imaging (INCIC) were among them: its academic director, Dr. Julián Vega Adauy (@ecocardio_cl), and its scientific advisor, Dr. Daniel Lorenzatti (@danilorenzatti).
The meeting ran from 18 to 20 February 2021 and was the first fully virtual meeting in the society’s history. With no corridors or shared rooms, social media took a central role in the conversation among attendees around the world. SCMR invited the community to follow its ambassadors and engage with them during the sessions, under the #SCMR2021 and #WhyCMR hashtags.
The appointment came at a time of growth for INCIC. A few weeks later, in April 2021, the SCMR newsletter would devote its “Member Success Stories” section to the institute and to the development of cardiac MR in Chile.
