Cardiac magnetic resonance had its place at the “Journey Through the Aorta” course, held on April 4 and 5, 2024 at the W Hotel in Santiago, Chile (Isidora Goyenechea 3000, Las Condes). There, Dr. Julián Vega Adauy, INCIC cardiologist and cardiac imaging specialist, gave the talk “CMR in aortic disease”.

The meeting, convened by Terumo Aortic, was directed by Dr. Eduardo Turner of the Instituto Nacional del Tórax and Dr. Pedro Becker of the Hospital Clínico Universidad Católica. International guests included Dr. Davide Pacini (S. Orsola Polyclinic, Bologna, Italy), Dr. Christian Pizarro (Nemours Children’s Health, USA), Dr. Daniel Navia and Dr. Adriana Aranda (Instituto Cardiovascular de Buenos Aires, Argentina) and Brígida Aguerrevere, president of ALAP.

Dr. Vega’s presentation covered the role of cardiac magnetic resonance in the work-up of aortic disease, a field where imaging is key to diagnosing and following patients.

Dr. Vega’s participation reflects INCIC’s approach: putting advanced cardiovascular imaging at the service of each patient’s specific clinical questions.
