25th SOCHICAR Cardiology Meeting: Julián Vega brings cardiac imaging to cardiomyopathies and difficult aortic stenosis
Invited by the Concepción chapter of SOCHICAR, Dr. Julián Vega Adauy of INCIC gave two talks in Talcahuano: a practical approach to cardiac magnetic resonance in cardiomyopathies and the work-up of difficult severe aortic stenosis.

Two topics that challenge the clinical cardiologist, cardiomyopathy and aortic stenosis that does not fit the usual criteria, were in the hands of Dr. Julián Vega Adauy, INCIC cardiologist and cardiac imaging specialist, at the XXV Jornadas de Cardiología Otoño 2026 (25th Autumn Cardiology Meeting).
The meeting, organized by the Concepción chapter of the Chilean Society of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery (SOCHICAR), took place on June 11 and 12, 2026 in Talcahuano, Biobío Region. Dr. Vega took part as an invited speaker with two presentations.
The first, “CMR in cardiomyopathy: a practical approach”, covered the use of cardiac magnetic resonance in the work-up of cardiomyopathies. Among other content, he showed a 21-minute cardiomyopathy protocol that combines cine, perfusion, late enhancement and T1 and T2 parametric maps in a single exam.

The second, “Difficult severe aortic stenosis”, focused on severe aortic stenosis cases that are complex to assess, an area where cardiac imaging is decisive.
Both talks reflect INCIC’s approach: using cardiac imaging to move from recognizing a pattern to identifying the cause and guiding clinical decisions.
